"Clover", real name Matt Masterson, is Canadian-born of Irish immigrants whose parents died three years prior from a miner's affliction that destroys the lungs.  Taken in by Von Cloft at the age of fourteen, he has established a reputation as a quick tempered and extremely lucky gunfighter.
